Christy wrote about a letter to the editor that was published:

"Nurse babies discreetly
Mothers who breast feed, please take notice. I was at a fast food restaurant with friends trying to enjoy my meal when a mother unbuttoned her shirt, pulled down her bra, exposed her breast and then proceeded to nurse her baby.

I am not opposed to mothers breast feeding, but please use some tact and common sense. Needless to say, my friends and I did not finish our meals."

How about this response?

Eat Dinner Respectfully
People who dine in public places, please take notice. I was at a fast food restaurant with my baby, trying to enjoy my meal and feed and nurture my child, when another diner near me proceeded to stare at me and make disgusted gestures.

I am not opposed to people gazing about at others' tables in a friendly manner and generally not minding their own business, but please use some tact and common sense when complaining about a normal way to nurture a child. Needless to say, your uncomfortable look and thoughtless letter embarrassed me, and lead me to question yours (and society's) so-called "support" of breastfeeding.

(So where can I send this letter?????)
