Just a gentle reminder,

Not all pediatricians (or any other doctor working with children) are people who have sold their souls and try to keep kids sick.

We are a heterogeneous bunch, some of us work very hard at trying to support efforts to keep children healthy and happy (even their parents). The name pediatrician does not connote ignorant person of breastfeeding and subversive person trying to help the formula industry.

Not every pediatrician belongs to the AAP, not every fellow of the AAP supports the leadership efforts in diluting the Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign.

I am a FAAP (for more reasons than I need to justify to anyone) but work very hard to bring preventative health models to my patients.

Guess what- healthier patients mean less work for me and more time with my son.

Please choose your words carefully as you paint your allies with the same brush as your adversaries...

Pierrette Mimi Poinsett, MD, FAAP
