Because I wasn't sure who could get things done, I sent several emails to our
local CBS affiliate: one to the managing editor, one to the programming
director, and one to an anchor whose (breastfeeding) baby I'd cared for in the
hospital a couple years ago. I also had my husband send an e-mail tor the
programming director; it had basically the same info as my emails but added a
paragraph from the "breastfeeding dad"'s point of view.
I was pleased with the way the station handled the situation. I didn't hear
from anyone, though, but guess who did? My husband! I guess that hadn't heard
from many men, so his stood out. He got an email from the executive news
director (whom we hadn't even directly emailed) in which she stated that she
and "many others" at the station were upset about the "ridiculous" storyline.
