I know this thread is getting old :) I agree with Nikki and others, it is
one more tool in our toolbox.... But we must be cautious, there are no
studies about it, we don't know its negative side effects. Sharon, you
wrote "Perhaps
some moms need a little help in the beginning and once things are working,
they can relax and their own oxytocin can take over." This sounds like what
a well-meaning obstetrician might have said about pitocin. With any tool,
care must be taken. And this next comment is not applicable to most people
on this list: I fear widespread, unknowledgeable use of tools that look
like easy fixes.

So very careful, case by case use by an experienced provider, yes. The
rest... Beware.
