I have slept with all 3 of my hospital birthed babies in the hospital.
Unfortunately, I also just returned from a ten day stay in the hospital with
my 13 month old who had an emergency mastoidectomy. In all cases, I was able
to co-sleep after signing a release absolving the hospital of responsibility
should something bad happen.
