There's been a wild and woolly discussion of John Rosemond's column on the
family bed on another e-mail parenting list.  Most people think he's rather
odd, and he never provides any scientific data or references to back up what
he says, but it sounds a LOT like the Ezzo's.

Speaking of family beds, I was watching a new TV show called "Second Noah"
last night (I think it was the pilot) about a family that takes in stray
children and stray wild animals (sort of like an Ark).  And in one scene the
camera begins tightly focused on the mother in bed.  She is holding a baby
chimpanzee, who is sleeping (she is rubbing it's back as it sleeps on her
chest) and the father is sitting up in bed next to her and they are
talking....then the camera pulls back and you see that there is one child
asleep on the bed between them, head towards the foot of the bed, and two
more children sleeping crosswise on the foot of the bed.  Nothing is said
about the kids in bed, they're just there.  Of course, so is the chimpanzee!
Anyway, I thought it was nice.

I wonder if the people who are so opposed to family beds ever sleep with
pets?  Nothing like a nice warm cat to keep your feet warm!
