I hit that pesky send button just too fast. What I wanted to finish is
that since our 'urge to merge' as she phrased it, is of the biological
basis of continuation/survival of the species, it is a natural
occurrence.

The same, however, can be said of prolactin's dampening of that urge.
This enables the mother to protect her health by not procreating too
rapidly/repetitiously (since birth control is not part of the system,
this is nature's way - so to speak), to allow her to devote her time and
resources to the care and feeding of the infant, which in the end gives
both the best chance of survival.

It's a shame that as a culture we have such an aversion/problem with the
natural workings of the bodies we inhabit. I'd much rather see an
article on the wonder of these natural workings of the bodies, than
tripe like this.
