Debra Ray describes the very sad scenario of (her own) 10-month-old,
attachment-parented granddaughter, whose father wants three-day visitation
.... but whom also has severe anger management issues.

Naomi Bar-Yam and Barbara Whitehead offered excellent suggestions. This
isn't about BF or even attachment parenting ... this is about putting a baby
in the care of someone who has red flags coming out of every orifice.

Mom needs to get herself a family law attorney pronto, and do it without
lettting Dad know (for now). She might try calling the local bar
association: they often have referral lines to connect one with attorneys
specializing in different areas of the law. These will be attorneys who are
taking the time to be active in their own professional organization --
usually a nice indicator that they are on the ball. Better than strolling
through the yellow pages, anyway. They often have programs to assist
low-income people, too.

The late Liz Baldwin wrote beautifully about the need to Work it out Work it
out Work it out; her materials can still be found on the legal issues pages
at www.llli.org. But this doesn't sound like a case where the parents are
being petulant, and using the child as a pawn. This sounds like a matter
where the child's very safety is at risk.
