Forced separation of mothers and babies under *any* circumstances is
disgraceful, except where the mother is a real danger to the baby.
Babies can thrive in almost any conditions as long as they are being
nurtured and breastfed by their mothers.  Prison in the US is a lot
better than some of the living conditions I have witnessed in the
Nicaragua, Burkina Faso or Peru.

Right on about the next generation.
