In the fore mentioned, if I recall right, the main concern is the
baby's skin not the resolving blood in the stool.
In that case an idea would be to have mom try a cow's milk
free diet, use triamcinolone cream on the baby 2 to 3 a day for
a few days to calm down his skin followed by mild steriod
creams for maintance along with liberal miosturizers and everyother day brief lukewarm baths with gentle soaps .....and
of course, breastfeed happily ever after.
I dont refer as many patients to dermatology for eczema
after seeing dermatologist say "stronger topical steriod needed"
I can do that myself.
