As a parent educator I am often asked by pregnant moms about when to
expect the baby to sleep through the night. My response is similar to
Gail's in that every baby is different, it is normal for baby's to
wake up at night, blah, blah... I also share with them some of the
first mothering advice I received from a dear friend when I too was
concerned about my precious sleep. She told me the times she woke up
in the wee hours of the morning and layed nursing her baby or rocking
her were more precious than sleep. After all, how long will she want
you to hold her and rock her? Soak it all up now, I tell those
parents. It's gone before you realize. Then I read the book "Love
You Forever" and make them all cry!
