Since the cost of formula is being discussed, how about this absurdity re 
follow up formula?  I found this on aol news among five baby things that aren't 
needed.  What is so sad, is that the header for this piece has a picture of a 
baby standing in his crib crying..

"The infant formula companies want in on the toddler market too. Enfamil's 
Next Step Lipil Formula promises to offer complete nutrition, including iron, 
for 9- to 24-month-olds. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) doesn't think 
it's necessary. Unless your child has an allergy, the AAP recommends most kids 
on formula switch to whole milk once they turn 1. By making the switch, 
families can save more than $13 a week or nearly $700 a year. (Estimated savings is 
based on whole milk that costs $2.59 a half-gallon and a 24-ounce can of 
powdered formula, which costs $21.50.) "
