Something else I am curious about the touching and lawsuit issues with
"babies who've gotten sick or died after LC consults"... to me this seems
to be two different issues? Why would the LC be charged with/sued for
battery for touching to help a latch when/if (have yet to see evidence of
these claims) the baby died? Wouldn't the charge be practicing medicine
without a license or something like that? what would the "battery" have to
do with the death or illness of the bay since it wasn't the touching it
would have been the 'incorrect advice' which would have led to the illness
or death claimed?

I mean I seriously CAN NOT imagine someone telling even the most
steretypical tv advertising lawyer: ("Was your baby damaged because your
doctor didn't perform a c-section? Call us!" [actual commercial]) "I went
to a Lacatation consultant/breastfeeding specialist and she touched my baby
and my breast!" and the lawyer saying "oh, battery." I mean really to me
that's like saying "I took my car to a mechanic and he opened the hood!" I
do realize that for women's comfort (I imagine this is another one of our
wester quirks, do women in Africa have these problems? Curious!) touching
should be kept respectful and to a minimum and when necessary but really
now...
