My husband is going to dictate this to me as he is the computer literate one
in the family and greets me every morning with a Lactnet printout which I
read while getting ready for work.

The best way to download LACTNET messages from AOL is by use of FlashSessions
in the Mail menu. While offline you can setup a flash session to activate
during the night (or any other time). Your software will automatically
signon to AOL and download all your messages. The whole procedure will take
from 1 to 2 minutes, and when you get up in the morning all your LACTNET
messages will be waiting for you. The procedure is as follows:

Offline, open your AOL software, then open your Mail menu. From there select
FlashSessions . . . Click on Retrieve Unread Mail and on Send Outgoing Mail,
so that the respective boxes are "X"ed.

Now click on Schedule FlashSession and setup sessions for the days and hours
you desire. (I download all my messages at 01:25 every morning.)

Make sure that you don't turn off your computer, don't exit windows and don't
exit your AOL software. Simply "minimize" America Online and go about your
normal computer routine.

[BTW, I keep my computer running 24hrs/day, 7days/week. Many experts believe
that this causes less "wear" and "stress" on electronic components than
turning your computer on and off daily or even more often.]

In the morning open the Mail menu and click on Read Incoming Mail, your
messages are there for your review. You can maintain them for as long as you
like, or delete the ones that you don't wish to keep.

During a regular online session, you can download individual messages by
clicking on the file icon (rightmost icon) and then naming and downloading
the file. This however is probably not as time efficient and more expensive
than simply downloading all the messages automatically via a FlashSession and
then reviewing them offline at your leisure.

If you have questions you can E-mail me personally.
