Sounds like what I call nipple compression syndrome, where the circultaion to
the nipple is cut off while the nipple is inside the baby's mouth. Cause:
hypotonicity, shallow, palate, tense oral area secondary to allergic
reaction, shallow attachment of the baby at breast, tongue-tie, improper
sucking. S/S: white stripe across the nipple tip directly post-feed,
blanching of the nipple tip, burning post feed that starts about five minutes
post feed.
TX: get rid of the cause.
Hopethis helps.
