Hello, everyone. Some of you may recall that I've asked this question in the
past. Received very little response, but the need has arisen again. Is
anyone aware of any published benchmarks for a hospital based, inpatient and
outpatient lactation service??

In order to contribute to our portion of the business plan and budgeting
process, we are being asked to provide benchmarks for the number of lactation
consultants necessary and the cost of those consultants.

If anyone is aware of any published benchmarks, I would be very grateful if
you would point me in their direction.

Or, if those of you that work in hospital based programs would be willing to
send me some parameters of your program (number of births per year, number of
LC hours per week, outline of services provided such as inpatient rounding,
outpatient visits, warmline, pump rental, credentials of LCs, general pay
range), I will happily compile these. I could then send them to all who
respond.

Thanks for your attention to this.
