Susan,
You might find some good information from the fact sheets available through INFACT.
http://www.infactcanada.ca/FactSheets.htm
See especially "Breastfeeding Protection and International Code", "Information on Global Strategy", and "What you need to know about the International Code."

I remember reading a WHO document titled something like "In defense of the Code" or "Justification for the Code" or something like that, and now I can't find it. If anyone remembers how to find that document, perhaps you would post it to the group. The document included references, if I'm not mistaken.

Good luck in your work.

So are there any studies out there showing the
normalization of formula has a detrimental effect on breastfeeding initiation rates? I'm sure the companies have it. However, I don't know if they would give it to me.

  Thanks in advance,

Susan Smallwood BF Counselor in PA
