I've been lurking for ages and now need to help for one of my moms. I'm with Nursing Mothers Council and a wanna be IBCLC.
Her son is 7 wks. He had green, foamy stools, then with the advise of an LC, only BF on one side to let him get more hindmilk. This worked for one week, he went back to yellow stools. Without changing anything, he then went back to green stools.
She's not taking any meds or eating a single food exclusively. He's not running a fever - normal pattern of fussiness from 7-11p, then sleeps well. She does have him on the breast for at least 20-30 min. on the one breast and then he falls asleep.
Could she have a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance in her milk supply no matter how long the baby nurses on one side?
Thanks,
Lisa in Concord, CA
