A few years ago there was a study done that compared creamatocrit vs
total milk intake and related them to infant weight gain. The upshot was
that infants in the upper quartile just took more milk than those in the
lower quartile, but that moms of the slower gaining infants had higher
fat content at the end of feeding. In other words, more milk available =
better weight gain, even though that meant that the milk was lower in
fat. (Effect of sucking on breast milk creamatocrit was part of the
title, I think).

Green stools are just indicative of rapid intestinal transit. As long as
the baby can digest the lactose while it goes through without dumping
the lactose into the lower intestines (where bacteria make gas and can
irritate the intestine), the baby will be happy and well. If baby is
growing and happy, there is no need to worry.

The old adage "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" applies here.
