I sat the exam during the period that we weren't supposed to study. I don't
recall my score being signifuicantly better or worse than first exam.
Studied some for 3rd exam, again no significant difference in scores(all mid
to high 80s). I depend on JHL and what ever conferences that i can get to
to keep me current. I'm not sure what this proves or disproves about taking
the exam every 10 years. Maybe next time when I am 75 it will make a
difference LOL.

I was appalled to read all the different reasons why it is cheaper to take
exam for recert because of cost, in general. We have a local chapter,
distance is not an issue and good speakers abound in our area. I'm mad at
myself for not considering how lucky I am to live in my little Delaware
Valley bubble where we have so many opportunities for cont. ed. besides my
chapter.

I think the Dutch Assoc has such a neat idea for distance learning. I've
also participated in Gold for 2 years and that is really a bargain.

The up shot of this good discussion on Lactnet is it has raised my awareness
of the struggles in far flung places. Gee whiz, 12 LCs in all of Norway! I
think there are 12 in my county!

Working hard on getting the Center for Breastfeeding Information Research
Library up and accessible. Pat in SNJ
