In my county's public schools, if your name and address are not listed on a
form kept on file at school, you *can not* pick up someone else's child.  In
fact, I dutifully filled out the form with the names of two neighbor/friends
but forgot to put down my own name and that of my husband.  I had to show
picture ID to get my own child from school on early release!
