In my opinion, it is a poor approach to stop the breastfeeding or even just
add formula. This is a problem, usually of low intake of hindmilk, and the
problem can often be cured by using compression to increase the baby's time
on the first breast. Just because the "blood" is less with formula, does not
mean we are taking the best route. In any case, the baby will get better
when on solids, because the addition of solids will slow down gastric
emptying.

Here we are, yet again, sacrificing breastfeeding, to make stools "look
nicer".
