Just received an ad for the 1999 Nurse Telephone Traige Guidelines
CD-ROM which includes under OB-GYN Guidelines "Breast Pain in Nursing
Mothers." Does anyone know who wrote this or whether it is accurate?

With all the phone triage being done, it would be nice if there was
something good out there to help moms in the middle of the night. I
called the triage system our hospital uses and asked about sore
nipples. Answer: apply a warm cloth (It has been a while since I
called; if this wasn't it, it was very close--couldn't harm, not likely
to help much) and call your doctor in the morning to see if you should
keep breastfeeding. The answer for pain in the breast was exactly the
same.
