Esther asks me the interesting question:

<< Just out of curiosity.......were you ultrasounded often during your
 pregnancy?
A colleague and I are often baffled by babies that are born in totally
natural births, no intervention, etc and still have strange suck
dysfunctions. Here moms are ultrasounded almost every prenatal visit, and
we have started to wonder if that may be the problem, or just that evolution
is going in favor of the ABM companies??? >>

I was ultrasounded 4 times in this pregnancy, which sounds like much less
than the mothers you are seeing, but still more than my previous pregnancies.
This was one at 7 weeks (to confirm dates r/t scheduling cvs), one at 11
weeks (cvs procedure), one at 16 weeks (overal diagnostic, count the little
vertebrae etc) and finally one at around 22 weeks or so, I forget exactly,
when Yemima took her one and only, unexplained, break from continuous
intrauterine wiggling.

It seems hard to imagine how this tongue curling or sucking could be related
to u/s, but hey, there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of
in my philosophy. Lisa M, does this ring any bells with your tongue-curling
babies?
