Barbara says,

<< I vote for cow milk formula and soy formula. Short, simple. People know
what the heck you are talking about, and you've spared them the character
 assassination. >>

While I've toyed w/ the idea (and do it occasionally) calling it artificial
baby milk (which is how WHO and UNICEF refer to it), I really deep down agree
w/ Barbara and call it formula. Period. I will differentiate between soy
based or cow milk based -- but formula. Parents and HCPs know what you are
talking about, and it is non-judgemental. I personally chuckle over some of
the acronyms we have come up with such as Barbara's SLIME and Jonathan's SIN
and some of the other ones. But while that's fine for us and among us
(similar to using acronyms in the ER -- GOMER and CTD come to mind), I don't
think it appropriate to use with mothers who may simply turn us off.
