Our local college paper interviewed me about this, because as it turns
out, the woman in Columbia, MO who started the deal is an alumna. She
quotes me talking a bit about the benefits of breastmilk (and that it
is biologically *normal* and it is always risky to deviate from that!!)
and that it would be so much more efficient and less ethnocentric to
support local Africa banks.

Anyway, Jill Youse told her that Prolacta will be ending their funding
for shipping and handling, and that soon they will be relying solely on
donors. I can't think that that kind of inefficiency and high cost
will last long, and I hope the recipients have not become dependent on
foreign milk.

Reminds me of the saying about giving a man a fish to feed him for a
day, teaching him to fish to feed him for a lifetime.

Lynn in MO
