Just had to relay this news......

I consulted with a mom prenatally and worked with who postpartum, she had a
unilateral mastectomy several years ago with bilateral saline implants a few
months later.  The saline implant was placed in the non cancerous breast to
in an attempt to make it the same size as the reconstructed one.

There were many doubts from the nurses and physicians that I work with that
this mom would succeed at breastfeeding.  Baby is now 10 days old and
gaining an ounce per day from nursing the one breast! YIPEE!
Its so nice for something to go right for a change!  The only problem mom is
having is a little extra fullness in the breast due to the implant, but
hopefully this will resolve with time.
