Annie,
Dr. Jack Newman popularized the use of a feeding tube in an ordinary
bottle used as a "lactation aid". I call it "Dr. Jack's supplementer"
when I offer it to moms as an option.
5 french feeding tubes cost about 2-3 dollars each in my area. I
usually give mom 2 or 3, along with a syringe to clean them with. Total
cost, about ten dollars or less. We usually sacrifice one of those
soft, free flowing disposable nipples the moms bring home from the
hospital (complements of you know who) by cutting a slit in it and
feeding the tube through, to keep the supplement clean and the bottle
from spilling.
