Again, I have no studies to back me either: just observations. I don't see
much difference between babes whose moms have had epipdurals and moms who
haven't. Some babies just suck well( and are a piece of cake to get to breast)
and some don't.

However, I will say that our anesthesiologists give good light epidurals( as
far as range of motion is concerned) and our patients can move,squat,go on
hands and knees,etc),so maybe the medication in the epidurals can be the
offending agent.

I must admit,though,I don't give the epidural thing much of a thought when I'm
getting a baby to breast.
