I have a client who basically loses her let down when she experiences
extreme stress. It happened first when baby was five months old. MOB had
lost her mom the year before and when her late mother's birthday came
around, she lost her let down for a day and a half. Milk will trickle out,
but not much more.

It has just happened again- baby is nine months old- and mom had increased
stress around the holidays which has led to almost a week with no let
down. She can get milk to trickle out, but not in big volumes like she
used to. She has tried the following:
skin to skin
warm bath/shower
hand expression
rescue remedy
acupuncture
pumping
meditation
crying

She attempted to get oxytocin nasal spray, but was not able to get a
prescription.

Baby gets very frustrated at the breast, which just increases mom's stress
even more. And baby does not like taking a bottle (she's working with a
sippy cup now). Luckily she isn't having any issues with plugged ducts or
mastitis, although she feels really full all the time and she is concerned
about supply diminishing.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or direct experience with
this.

Thank you!
