Beautifully articulated, Jacquie!  Thank you.

I had a lovely Speech Therapist / exam candidate shadow me at work today.
We learnt so much from each other!  

What has always excited me about the profession of lactation consultancy is
the diverse backgrounds of IBCLCs.  In my experience some of the very best
IBCLCs I've had the pleasure of knowing have had NO medical background and
some of the worst have been/are nurses.  This is a generalisation of MY
experience.
