I recently read the following:

Dr. Milly Ryan-Harshman, former public health nutritionist and specialist in
infant feeding, described today's efforts to create fear about the safety of
infant foods containing GE ingredients as irresponsible and unconscionable:
"The manufacture of infant formula is held to the highest standards in Canada,
and the products of biotechnology have passed rigorous safety assessments.
Formula and infant foods that contain genetically engineered ingredients pose no
health risk to infants."

Obviously Canada is one step ahead of the USA.  At least they can publicly
admit to the genetic engineering of ingredients.  Here in the USA, we are still
at the stage where we have to use such words as "novel" ingredients. Does
anyone know of where the public can access those "rigorous safety assessments?"
And were safety assessments done by the industry itself?
