NRP is meant for delivery room rescusitation only. It does not apply outside of the delivery room. Basic CPR should be taught for anyone not attending the delivery room. It is a waste of time and money and a misuse of a process to teach it to "everyone' that touches a baby. It can also lead to errors in practice when lay people or people who do not fully understand it's intention are taught medical procedures that they don't have a basis for.
