I help each year with the nurse-in we stage annually in Austin, so while I'm
not always sure what they accomplish, and worry about the message they send
to women who have modesty issues, I'm not absolutely hostile to the idea.
My point really is that we want always to be sensitive to the fact that
sustained pressure on institutional barriers will prob. be needed in order
for those barriers to fall. If all the people in Austin who show up once a
year for a 15 min. feel-good event would pay annual dues to a bfg group to
help with legislative lobbying, or would join ILCA or IBFAN or whatever, we
might be able to move some mountains.
