Yes, I believe in a sufficient amount it is. There is probably some minute
aspiration of saliva we all do but a larger amount could be dangerous. It is
liquid with anaerobic bacteria.
Isn't this why alcoholics are at risk for aspiration pneumonia with aerobes/
Maybe someone like John A. who sees old (20+years) patients could answer
this.
