I had a quick glance at your text, Karleen.
I did not thoroughly read it, but an idea came up while I was inbetween
sleeping and waking up earlier this morning.
I realize my English is not at 5th grade level ;-) but nevertheless, English
is not my mother tongue.
Could it be helpful if I would try and have a go at Marsha's text and ask
one of my girls (11, 13, 16, 17) whether it is understandable afterwards...?
For us, it might be somewhat easier to stay close to a very basic
vocabulary. Of course we wouldn't be able to keep all Marsha's details in,
but the essence could be maintained.
If we would make this detour and then have a native speaker look at it again
and then translate it into other languages, would that make sense...? (If
not... forget it! hahaha)
I also thought of really funny cartoonesk pictures I once got through Zorg
voor Borstvoeding (BFHI-certifying institute); I'll check if I can find a
link and look into author/copyright.

Kindly,

Marianne Vanderveen, Netherlands
