The National Association of Perinatal Addicition Research and Education has
published "Breastfeeding Protocol for substance abusing women" They have a
huge reference library and are very up on BF information. Contact NAPARE, 200

I agree with Tom Hale's post about careful weighing of risks/benefits. If the
mom does MJ while feeding ABM, her behavior may put the baby at more risk
than the amount in her milk, and she may be more likely to "indulge." I'm
not an expert on this, so this is really just my opinion. The few moms I've
worked with who use MJ seemed strangely unconcerned about their babies, which
scares me even more than the idea of "polluted" breastmilk. This is a
situation where collaboration with her and her baby's primary care provider
is MANDATORY. (Yes, I"m shouting).
