Medline can indeed be accessed via the internet and it's free! Go to
<A HREF="http://www.nlm.nih.gov/">U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM)</A>
and click on Search Medline. You may then use either PubMed or Internet
Grateful Med (IGM) to search Medline. Both PubMed and IGM have advantages.
PubMed is exquisitely easy to use if you want to look up articles by a
particular author (eg, Auerbach KA or Hartmann PE). You can also search by
key words on PubMed.  There is an advanced search option on PubMed as well.
Grateful Med may allow you to narrow your search to a particular article. You
have may search by author's name(s), title words, and/or subject words. You
may specify the article's language, age of study subjects and so on. Both
PubMed and IGM will have a link to a list of related articles that may be
worth your perusal. Abstracts are available on-line for many of the listed
references on Medline.
