to have yeast-like growths UNDER her breasts."

Amazing coincidence - yesterday I gave a small presentation on breastfeeding
to our Retail Pharmacists Association. The session before mine was given by
a dermatologist who showed a slide of just this - a thrush infection under
the breasts - large bright red areas of inflammation. Treatment is to keep
the area clean (plain water) and blot off with tissues - this removes a lot
of the spores. Then apply a topical antifungal, e g miconazole. He
stressed treating for two full weeks after all symptoms have resolved, just
as we do for a thrush infection of the nipples. Hope this helps.
