Thank you for addressing that timing issue! As I recall, was not she just
criticizing timing feedings, in the sentence (or so), in the article,
before that?

No, she suggests specific numbers of minutes for feeds and for pumping
sessions, to many struggling moms. As I said, I've worked with her for many
years - this is her way. This quote: "After an hour, Ms. Rosenfeld advised
the mother to drink two cups of raspberry leaf tea each day, starting at
noon. To keep a log of her _diet_
(http://health.nytimes.com/health/guides/specialtopic/food-guide-pyramid/overview.html?inline=nyt-classifier) , to weed
out possible triggers of digestive issues for the baby. To do the tongue
exercises before each feeding to “open his suck,” and burp him before, during
and after. And to nurse for no longer than 12 minutes on the first side,
18 on the second. " reads as completely accurate, since I've been on visits
with Freda. The one major piece of misinformation was to call Cathy Genna's
books "breastfeeding guidebooks". They are exhaustively researched texts
to help those of us who help mothers and babies. They are not "guidebooks"
for parents, dispensing the kind of information Freda was talking about. I
don't think it was well written to place Freda's quote in that spot.

Hope that helps,
Peace,
Judy
