What are the pre/post weights on this baby? This behavior is classic for
a baby who is nursing inefficiently and is still hungry. (The early
history could certainly have resulted in low milk supply). If you don't
have a scale that can measure what the baby takes in, please send this
mom to someone who does. I'll bet that this baby is crying from hunger,
that's why the bottle made her happy, she got food. We mainly worry
about elimination diets when baby is growing well, it's obvious he's
getting enough, and there's another sign of allergy (rash, eczema,
stuffy nose, etc). Is she stooling at least 3-4 times a day (at one
month, she should be)? What are her oral motor skills like? Oral
anatomy? Any other issues? Any maternal risk factors for low milk supply
other than the tough start?
