While it is easier to bash attempts at becoming Code compliant, it is certainly much more difficult to accomplish this outcome! Becoming Code compliant is a process that will take Evenflo many months to realize. The Code is quite silent on bottles and artificial nipples so it is difficult to make sure that all packaging and references to bottles and nipples are either eliminated or changed to adhere to the intent of the Code. Even experts on the Code have differing interpretations of what should or should not be permitted. Much is based on precedent and extrapolation, so the breastfeeding community needs to be patient as the process unfolds. Constructive criticism, suggestions, pointing out inconsistencies, and?reporting Code questionable content is really helpful. NABA is working hard to make sure that all input shapes the desired outcome, so that at the end of the process, a US bottle manufacturer will not be picked up for Code violations.

Removing commercial barriers to breastfeeding takes time and there will always be a few stumbling blocks - just ask anyone who has tried to eliminate?formula company?discharge bags from the hospital! I am viewing this with optimism and with?the glass half full. Wouldn't it be amazing if other bottle manufacturers actually?followed suit?
