Jack commented that giving pancreatic enzymes to moms with protein
intolerant colicky babies is a new attempt to assist in maintaining bfg
rather than switching to neocate or one of the other "elemental" formulas.
I mentioned this last week in a post about a baby with Turners Syndrome. I
got a call from the mom today. She had a excellent week (baby relaxed and
happy) so long as mom took the enzymes. Then this week she d/c because she
felt they were giving her (the mom) upset stomach. Baby has reverted to
very fussy behavior. I think it is possible mom just has mild stomach virus
(which is going around here) and I am going to suggest she resume and see if
she really has a problem before she gives up. It seems to have worked with
her baby.
