Melisa, your comments make me think of one of the benefits of groups that
support nursing moms-the group shows moms that there's more than one way to
do just about anything. I led a meeting where we got on the topic of nursing
tops and the experiences ranged from, "I can't live without them" to, "never
bothered with them and I've been fine." The expectant moms practically had
lightbulbs over their heads and it was obvious that they came into the
meeting thinking there were all sorts of things they "needed" to breastfeed,
but they left knowing that they could try this or that (or not) and
basically find their own way. It was a very good meeting.
