Dear Jaye, so many of your observations are SO correct.  Maybe instead of 
repeating the LC entry exam every 10 years we need an exam that shows we are 
growing in knowledge and not stuck at entry level.   (No flames please! :-)

Unfortunately I see LCs who don't take advantage of opportunities to learn 
more at chapter meetings, presentations.  I   know these meetings and the 
newest books, tapes, films,  etc are expensive, but we have to keep learning 
and keep being reminded of the basics.  And Lactnet, a daily dose of 
learning!  Some LCs have never even heard of it!! :-o

PS: I  always try to listen to  a mom's intuition.  Who else is so 
intimately involved with her baby?  Me, who sees her briefly every   mo or
