otc treatments can be used while breastfeeding.  in addition to the
ones already mentioned we use cotton balls soaked in milk of mag, and
have made a paste of the suppositories for those moms who should not
or would rather not use a suppository.

re the burping pumps, I have seen this happen when the shield gets
milk on it.  make sure the shield is properly positioned on the breast,
and it may help to have mom lean slightly forward to make sure the
milk goes in the collection container rather than back on the shield.
