This happens regularly on our unit. The mom feeds baby before going to OR &
feeds next when she returns from recovery. They are rarely off the unit for
long & these new babies are often sleepy & not too hungry the first day, so
they don't usually have to be fed while mom is gone. If by chance baby does
really need something, maybe a little water by cup will tide him over.
