Diane,
Green, mucousy stools, tummy-ache and poor weight gain could point to a
relative lactose overload, due to insufficient hindmilk intake.  Especially on
5 feeds/day, moms fat content could be very low (increased feed freq=increased
prolactin=alteration of lipoprotein lipase levels=increased fat content of
milk).  The problem could also be a poor suck, frequent breast
switching...have you ruled any of this out?
