As co-mother unable to assist with the location of a new "home" for LACTNET
for personal reasons having nothing to do with anything lactational (and
which subsequently fell entirely on Kathleen Bruce's shoulders), I must let
you all know that the small advertisement that will subsequently appear has
NOTHING to do with lactation, formulas, infant feeding, bottles, rubber
teats, pacifiers, semi- or fully-solid foods, and the like. Nor it is part
of a corporate group that pushes inappropriate parenting ideas, feeding
"choices" that really aren't, chocolate-lovers or haters, or any other
group you might think of. What it DOES do is save us from having to pay
many THOUSANDS of DOLLARS per year in order to have a home for LACTNET.
Please note: if the co-mothers had been unable to find a home for LACTNET
without paying a fee, there would no longer BE a LACTNET. Neither of us
can foot such a bill.

We appreciate your sensitivity to WHO Code elements as it pertains to
advertising. In this case, however, the small line of advertising you will
soon see has NOTHING to do with that which the WHO Code seeks to govern.

We trust the above statement will allow those of you who are concerned
about this to rest assured that we are not violating our sacred trust as
lactation consultants not to sell our souls down the river for the sake of
some dollars saved. We also greatly appreciate the positive notes we
occasionally receive about the help LACTNET is to its subscribers. We try
not to get upset at the less frequent notes that take us to task for things
over which we have no control.

Finally, if, in the next few days or weeks, you have difficulty getting
into the archives, or posting, it may be related to the change-over, which
we trust will be smooth and seamless, but which may not be. If you will
please exercise patience and discretion in screaming about not getting on,
we would appreciate it. We are doing our very best to make sure that this
shift will not be noticed by anyone. Many thanks in advance for your
understanding and cooperation.
