Dear Friends:
I checked out the websites someone so kindly posted, about breastfeeding
and dieting and am not convinced. What is documented are concerns about
possibilities, no actual evidence.
Someone who worked in a refugee camp told me that starving mothers had
the milk running out of their breasts but didn't have the energy to lift
their babies to breast.
No one is recommending starvation; just moderate and sensible dieting.
I wonder more about the impact on our largest gland, the brain, when it is
full of ideas about doing anything to keep the slender figure of a maid after
becoming a mother.
     Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE, craniosacral therapy
